Analysis of Vibrio parahaemolyticus Detection in Commercially Available Oysters

Abstract: Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a foodborne pathogen that can easily cause bacterial food poisoning. In order tounderstand the contamination status of Vibrio parahaemolyticus in oysters,reducetherisk offoodborne diseases,and provide scientific basis for the safe consumption of oysters,this study tested oyster samples sold in the market.The results showed that among the 16 randomly purchased oysters,3 were detected with Vibrio parahaemolyticus, with a detection rate of 18.8% .The high detection rate of Vibrio parahaemolyticus in oyster samples in this study indicates that there is acertain food safety risk assciated with consuming raw oysters,which should be taken seriously.
