Analysis of Food Safety Risk Monitoring Results in 2024 from a Prefecture-Level CDC in Xinjiang

Abstract: Objective: To analyze the results of food safety risk monitoring in a prefecture in Xinjiang in 2024, clarifythe characteristics ofchemical polutants and microbial pollution,and provide ascientific basis forregional food safety management. Method: According to the national and autonomous region monitoring programs, a total of28 pesticides in 5categorieswere detected,including organophosphorus,neonicotinoids,and pyrethroids.Atotal of 225 food samples were collected from seven counties and cities across the state for surveilance of chemical contaminants,microorganisms and foodborne diseases. Result: The overall pass rate was 95.56% ,the pass rate of chemical pollutants was 97.37% , and the pass rate of microbial pollution was 91.78% . The problem of pesticide residues in vegetables and fruits is more prominent,and diazepam in aquatic animals and their products exceeds the standard (exceeding the standard rate of 25% ),which is the first time in the region. The results of foodborne disease surveillance showed that norovirus was the main causative agent, and family clusters accounted for 75% of the events. Conclusion: The fod safety risk ofa prefecture in Xinjiang wascharacterized by‘high front-end polutionand excelent processing links"and the contamination risk ofbulk food was significantly higher than that of prepackaged fod (p<0.01) ! It is recommended to strengthen the supervision of pesticide use,establish a screening system for new pollutants such as diazepam, and improve the prevention and control capacity of foodborne diseases in family clusters.
