Verification Results and Analysis of Cronobacter (Enterobacter sakazakii) Detection Capacity in Infant Formula

Abstract: To improve the ability to detect Cronobacter (Enterobacter sakazakii),our laboratory participated in a proficiency testing program organized bythe UK Food and Environmental Research Institute.According to the validation manual for theabilityto detect Cronobacter (Enterobactersakazakii)in infant formula milk powder with sample number M294d20 and GB 4789.40—2016,our laboratory uses a combination of biochemical methods and the VITEK2 Compact identification system todetect Cronobacter (Enterobacter sakazaki).The results showed that no Cronobacter(Enterobactersakazaki) wasdetected insample M294d20A,and Cronobacter (Enterobactersakazaki) was detected in sample M294d2oB.Theresults were satisfactory,indicating that our laboratoryhas the ability to test Cronobacter (Enterobactersakazaki).Inaddition,this experiment used traditional biochemical identification kits and the VITEK2Compact system fordetection,and theresults were consistent,further verifying the reliabilityof the detection method. Comprehensive analysis shows that combining biochemical methods with the VITEK 2 Compact systemcan significantly improvedetection accuracy,and the VITEK 2Compact identification system performs better in terms of timeliness.
