The Current Status and Development Strategies of Extracurricular Scientific Research and Innovation Activities for Medical Students from the Perspective of New Medicine

AbstractExtracuricularscientific researchactivities are an important waytoenhanceundergraduate students'research andinnovationabilities，andthey areeven more important underthe new medicaleducationconcept. However，thecurrent proportion ofundergraduate students majoring inclinical medicine participating in extracurricular research inuniversities is not satisfactory. The article investigates the current situation ofresearch activities among undergraduate students majoring in clinical medicine at Sun Yat sen University School ofMedicine，analyzes the challnges faced by five-year undergraduate students inextracuricularresearch，and proposesaseriesofcountermeasuresandsuggestionsbasedonthe new medical education concept. The aim is to open up a smoother path for clinical medical students in extracuricular research，comprehensively enhance theirresearch literacyandinovationability，andimprove theircompetitiveness n the international medical field.
