Abstract:Inthecontextof thenewera,withchangesintheinternationalmanufacturinglandscapeandadjustmentsinthe domesticindustrial structure,theindustry'sdemandfortalenthasevolved.Theexpectationsforgraduateshaveshiftedfroma solidfoundationofbasicknowledgetoacross-disciplinaryknowledgestructureandpracticaliovationcapabiliesforrapidly solvingcomplexenginering problems.Traditionalengineering educationarefacing significantchalenges.Thispapersummarizes themainissesidentifiedduringthesupervisionofundergraduatethesisprojectsinmechanicalengineringandreflectsonthe causesof theseissuesandpotentialsolutions.Undertheneweducationalenvironment,implementingandrefiningproject-based teachinginmajorprofessionalcoursesandpromotingshoolenterprisecollborativeeducationduringthethesisstagearekeyt addressing these challenges.
