AbstractUndergraduate theses in surveying and mapping majors face problems such as lack of innovative topic selectionand insufficient processupervision， which afect the cultivationof students'comprehensiveabilities.This study analyzes the current problems inundergraduate theses ofsurveying and mapping majors，and combines the new engineering concept to reform the quality improvement of graduation theses. The reform measures include optimizing the topic selection mechanism，introducinga graduation thesis tracking management system，establishinga "triple guarantee" system，strengthening process management and mentor guidance，etc.The reform not only enhances students'academic literacy and writing ability， improves the quality of academic papers，but also eectively increases the rate ofpostgraduate entrance examination and employment， providing a modelfor other universities to lear from， which is of great significance for promoting the improvement of higher education quality.
