AbstractInthe contextofthe new era,public artcourses inuniversities are notonlyanimportant meansofinheriting and developing culture and art but also a powerful way to cultivate contemporary collge students'aesthetic taste, innovative thinking,and humanistic qualities. Facing the rapidly changing social environment, public art courses urgently need a series of reforms and innovations to met the needs of talent cultivation in the new era.This paper focuses on the existing problems and reform ideas of art appreciation courses in public art courses and explores new paths to improve the quality of art education in universities based on curriculum teaching practice.
