A Study on the Translation of English Slang from the Perspective of Cultural Translation Theory

Abstract:Culturaltranslationtheorybroadensthescopeof translationstudiesfromthemerelinguisticleveltoabroaderculturaldi mensionanddefinestranslationasaross-ulturalcommunicationactivityAsaimportantcomponentof theEnglishlanguagesystem, slang,withitsagatielingsticxprssseatlhsEgishoabuarydfurthesitslingisticoatiosEng lishslangismostlygeneratedbychangesinthelexicalstructures.Itsmergenceisloselyrelatedtosubcuturalgroupssuchasteeages andAfricanAmericans.TheculturalcoversionbstaclesexistinginthetranslationofEnglishslangaremainlymanifestedintefactthat therearenocoespndingodsinnforEglissang;ereaengepresiosiidticalfsutdiventeasithe twolanguages；andoeslangexpresionsareasociatedwithalusionsBycombiingtheculturaltranslationteorywithrelevantculural contexts，trassotsateisschslitaltaslaiooatioplftioomesicatiodfrtasatioado specific situations.
