Abstract：MartaCravenNusbaumisoneof themost influentialAmericanphilosophersofourtime.Asapublicintellctualatthe forefrontofglobaldevelopment，drawingonherowexperience，Nussaumcriizedtheshortcomingsofutilitarianducation，which servesthepurposeofconomicgrowth.Shesoughttorecostructtheconceptionofducationalpurpose，defiingitasthecultivationof “globalciens”andproposingth“CapabiliesAroach”thoryichomprisescriticaltinking，imagination，andempathyhe proposalfthe“balcitncoceptioofucatioalpuosestoddresstrsisofevelopntereutilitaransprevlsd humanisticeducatioisgtdAgaistthackdrooftratepracticaliianceoftisoceptioisfletdihfo lowing：calingonteacherstmpasizehumanisticducatioandfostersudents’sensefelonging;encouragingsudentstoleabout theirownculturestofosteculturalconfidene；andcultivatingstudents’abilittoviewissesfroaglobalperspectivetobuildacomu nity with a shared future for mankind.
