Abstract：InSeptember2020，China formallysetthegoalsachievingcarbonpeakingby2030carbonneutralityby2060. Asanovelenvironmental protectionemissionreductionmeasure，thecarbon tradingmarkethasbeen increasinglyaplied worldwide.Inthecontextgrowingcorporateatentiontoenvironmentalcostmanagementcontrol，thispaperaimstoexamine whethertheemergencethecarbontradingmarketprovidesenterpriseswithamorefcientcost-efectivesolutionfor achieving low-carbonobjectives.Usingpaneldatafrom2014to2023publiclylistedcompaniesinChina'spowersector，the studyanalyzestheimpactcorporateparticipationincarbontradingonenvironmentalcosts.Tefindingsindicatethatparticipation inthecarbontradingmarkethasa positiveimpactonreducing environmentalcostsforpowercompanies.Itplaysa crucialrole inoptimizingcarbonemissonalocation，exploringthepotentialthecarbontradingmarket，helpingcompaniesachieve low-carbonemisionreductiongoals.Therefore，itisesentialtosupprtpromotecarbonemissonmarketpoliciestoreduce theenvironmentalcostspowercompaniescreateaharmoniousmutuallbenefialsituationforboththeenvironment the economy.
