Abstract： Under the background of the new medical science， training program for the pharmaceutical students in applied universities should combine the needs of regional social development， optimize the curriculum system， and improve the humanistic quality of students. Emphasis should be placed on the basic and frontier nature of the teaching content， and the rapid iteration of the teaching content. The timely updating of the professional direction should be driven by the industrial demand and scientific studies to promote the construction of the pharmaceutical specialty， cultivate the application-oriented pharmaceutical talents， and make contributions to the economic development of the local pharmaceutical industry.
