Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the most significant driving force of the scientific and technological revolution at the present stage. The enhancement of the application ability of artificial intelligence in metallic materials design is one of the important topics in the cultivation of high-quality talents in the metallic materials engineering program of college education. Considering with the features of the program in Nanjing Tech University, we have initiated the teaching reformation to improve the very ability by revising the cultivation program, curriculum updating and reconstruction, and the renovations of teaching methods and teaching achievements evaluation. Meanwhile, it as a whole explores the ways by which students can apply AI techniques to solve complex engineering problems.
