Hubei and Jiangxi Border "Ke-Chen" Two Forces and Government Governance Measures in the Ming and Qing Dynasties

Abstract： At theendof the Yuan Dynasty，afterChen Youliangand Zhu Yuanzhangfailedin the water batleof Poyang Lake， his heirchangedthesurname"Ke"andretreatedtotheborderofHubei andJiangxi，ocupying Ruichang，Jiangxi，Hubei Xinguo， andlivedhere.Hebecamethelocalandfamousinthe MingandQingDynasties.Inthepastthreehundredyears，the"Keand Chen twelvesurames"wererampantamongXingrui，andteMingandQingdynastiestookcorespondingadminsrativeandilitarymeasures to manage them.From"Ke-Chen"and"unrulypeople"to Xingrui'sobtaingovernance，the"Ke-Chen"twoethnic groups have experiencedarmedself-defenseduringwars，courtpacification，antibanditandantiQingmovements.Afterhundredsofyears，they graduallreturnedtopeace.Thisarticleexploresthetheftandbanditryofte"Ke-Chen"clanduringtheMingandQingdyasties， thetaxandlaborsiationinXingruigio，andteadministrativeandmlitarymanagementoftereginbytecourtoficials，inan attempt to gain a deeper understanding of the local social， historical， and cultural context.
