Errors， Influencing Factors，and Teaching Suggestions in Chinese Tone Perception of Heritage Language Learners of European and American

Abstract：ToneisanimportantfeatureofChinesephonetics，andthetoneperceptionhasasignificantimpactonlearners‘languageuderstandingandoral expresson.This studytakes 58European and American Chinese heritagelearners asresearchsample， andobtainsdataontheirtoneperceptionabilityandfactorsafectingtheirtoneperceptionabilitytroughtestingandquestioaie methods.Thepefoaceofoepreptionisatistiallaldndultiplergresioaalysisisarduttloein fluencingfactorsoftoneperceptionabilityamongChineseheritagelearners.TheresearchresultsindicatethatChinesestudentsface difcultiesinperceivingtescodandfourthonesofasinglecharacter，distinguishngbetweeefirstandfourthtonesanddistinguishingbetweenthesecondandtirdtoes.Teresultsofultipleregressionanalysisindicatetatstudentspersoaltoeawar nessandlearningeforthaveasignificantimpactontheirtoneperceptionlevel.Researchproposessuggestionsfortoneteachingfor overseas Chinese studentsin Europe and America based on survey conclusions.
