Abstract：Asoneof theglobalvarietiesofEnglish，African Englishexhibitsdistinctiveexpresionstrategies ineverydaydiscourse，eflectingidentityconstructionandculturalinteractionincross-culturalcommunication.BasedontheNigeriansortstory colectionTheThingAroundYourNeck，conversationalfragmentsrevolvingaroundAfricancurlyhairareexaminedtoexplorelexical choices，rhetorcaldeviesandommunicativefunctionsincosulturalcontexts.Corpusanalyssanddiscouseanalysisreobined tooutlinethenamingsystem，descriptiveexpresions，andcommunicativestrategiesrelatedtohair.Thefindingsrevealhow AfricanEglishlacsuuralselexpressonitosslualitelibitydoptinglexialoeoarallece structures，andAfrican-spefcmetaphors.Thediscursivespaceconstructedbetweenexteralgzesandculturalself-represetation highlights the agency of the Global South in linguistic dissemination.
