Abstract：Withtheimprovementofvoltagelevels，theinsulationproblemsofauxiliarypowertransformersusedfor independentpowersupplyinSolidStateTransformers（SSTs）havebecomeincreasinglyprominent.Iftheinsulationisnotproperly designed，seriouspartialdischargeswillbecausedresultinginisulationagingfailureandaffectingtheoraloperationof electricalequipment.Tothisend，theauthorhaveproposedatechnicalsolutionusingacombinationofmetalshieldedinsulated wiresandmagneticringsintheband.Itcannotonlyhomogenizetheelectricfielddistributionandincreasethelevelofpartial discharge，butalsoreducethevolumeocupiedbythetransformerandimprovethepowerdensityofthesystem.Bycomparing andanalyzingthecharactersticsoftheproposedauxiliarypowertransformerandtheexisting primaryauxiliarypowertransformer intermsofelectricfielddistributionandvolumeocupation，theproposedschemehasbeeverfiedintermsofoptimizingthe electric field distribution（reducing the maximum electric field value by 65 % ）and reducing the transformer volume（saving the occupied space and volume by about 1/3 ）
