外國文學教學中的隱喻之美
Abstract: The difficulty in teaching foreign literature has not yet been solved satisfactorily so far. It is held in this paper that, the failure to attach sufficient importance to the art of understanding is one of the key factors,the understanding of metaphors in particular. If we merely look upon the metaphor as rhetorical device,it willinevitably end up with severe deviations from the literary works.It’s highly necessary to approach the metaphors from philosophical and speculative perspectives,and integrate the interpretation in the teaching practice with well-tailored strategies. It is argued that teaching foreign literatures presupposes ascending progressively to three respective realms of the beauty of metaphors. The first realm of beauty lies in phonological, phrasal and grammatical metaphors, while the second realm is accessible by textual and organizational metaphors. The third realm,aiming to cultivate the mind,is characterized by the understanding of dynamic metaphors with non-logical thinking playing a vital role.
