Spatiotemporal dynamic evaluation of the agricultural science and technology progress contribution rate in Jiangsu Province

Abstract:TheCob-Douglas(C-D)productiofunctionasconstructedtoestimatetheelasicitycoefcientsof inputfactorsonagriculturaloutput,andthe Solowresidual methodwasthenapplied tocalculatetheagricultural scienceand technologyprogress rateandagriculturalscienceandtechnologyprogresscontributiorate.Theresultsshowedthatfromthe8thFive-YearPlantothe13th Five-YearPlanperiodinJiangsuprovince,oththetotalagricuturaloutputvaueandcapitalinvestmentdemonstratedgrowthtrend, but heiraverageanualgrowthratessloweddow.Exceptforthe9thive-YearPlanperiod,thelborforceshowedadecreasingtend inotherperiods,shiftingtosecondaryandtertiary industries.Theagriculturalscienceandtechnologyprogresscontributionratewas relativelylow during the 8th Five-Year Plan and 9th Five-YearPlan periods,but exceeded 50.00% from the 1Oth Five-YearPlan to the13th Five-YearPlanperiods.Exceptfor Wuxiand Suzhou,theagriculturalscieneandtechnology progressrateiJiangsuProvince ranged from 1.45% to 3.13% ,descending in the order of Nanjing,Xuzhou,Changzhou,Yancheng,Taizhou,Nantong,Yangzhou,Lianyungang,Zhenjiang,Huai’anandSuqian;teagriculturalscienceandtechnlogyprogesscontributionratecociis in Jiangsu Province ranged from 44.41% to 121.32% ,descending in the order of Changzhou,Yancheng,Nantong,Nanjing,Taizhou, Yangzhou,Xuzhou,Zhenjiang,Suqian,Lianyungang,ndHuaian.SystematicclusteringwasperformedusingSSS2.Osoftare, withthefirstclusterincluding Zhenjiang,Taizhou,Xuzhou,Lianyungang,Huai’an,andSuqian;thesecondcluster included Nanjing,Changzhou,and Nantong;thethirdclusterconsistedofYangzhouandYancheng.AstheconcentrationareaofagriculturalscienceandtechnologyinnovationresouresinJiangsuProvincesouthernJiangsuexhibitedasignificantlyhigheragriculturalscience and technology progress contribution rate than central and northern Jiangsu.
