AbstractThe mechanicalstrengthofsesamestalkws testedduringfloweringandcapsularstage，andcoelationanalysisandmultiplere gresionanalysiswerepeforedonteshapeofssamestalkinteodelength，iameterfreshweight，dryweightandplanthighrbological yield.Teresultssowedthattestemmechanicalstrengthofsamesteasnegativelycorelatedwithtelngthofinterode.Testemechanicaltegthofozdtaielatoithtedelhdtelyatatie tionwithte6thiteodengtheehancalstregthofssaestdpositivecoelationwiinteodedameernduozi. stemmechanicaltregthadsigicantposiiecoelatioitdameerofteddthitedameeileLuozioada significant positive correlation with diameter of the 2nd，4th and 5th internods，and extremely significant level with diameter of the 3rd internode.Themechancaltrengthofsesamestwaspositivelyorelatedwithtefreshweightofachinteode，LuoziNo.21stemmhanical strengthassifatlosilelatedirshtfthtede，luoNasifantli latedwiththefreshweightoftendinteode.Tereasaposiecorelationtwenstemmechanicalstrengthandinteodedryweigt， andtherewasasignifcantposiecoelationbetweenstemmechanicalstrengthndtenditeodedryeightofLuoziNo.2.Itepro duction of sesame，should choose the varieties with high plants and thick stems.
