Abstract:MoYanonce stated that his works wereinfluencedbyCarson McCullers.JudgingfromThe Balldof theSad Caféand TheDryRiver,tereisacertainfuencereltioshipbetwnthetwoworksintesofgeograpicalspaceandvlence,gotesque consciousnessndusicalepressIntesfggraicalpace,TeryRiverasakergioalaraceristdse ofhistory,anditisless matureanTeBaldofteSdCfé.However,byrootingitselfinuralCinaheDryivefosa sharpcontrastbetweentheinfiniteextensionofmetaphors,thecontiuoussurgingofthesenseoflife,andteblodyandcueltruth ofdeath,presentingitsownuniquenes.Bothwritershaveachevedthesothingefectofemotionsthoughtheinterventionof music intheir works,leavingawarmundertoneforthegrotesquestories.MoYan,whiledrawinginspirationfromMcCulers,incopoated Chineseelementsand personal experience toproducelieraryworksthatarerich inaestheticidentityandChinesetemperament, completing the transformation of creative subjectivity.
