Abstract:Thereservoi-damgrouponthemainstreamofteupperreachesofteYelowRiverservesasacicalfloodcotrolaier. Whiledeliveringopreesieeneitsinfodtigatiowatersupplyowereationdoloicaloservatio,itfcoplex anddynamicnaturaldisasterriss.Byaalyingthecharacteristicsofnaturaldisasterrissintisegion,theaperdsusedteaiatu raldisasterrisksfacdbyservoianddmgroupsandtehallngesofskanagementandrsponse.Tesultsidicatetataturaldisasters intheupperreachesoftheYellwRiverdm-reservoirsystemexhibitcompoundandsystemicfeatures,whereextremeeventsuchas mega-earthquakes,iantlandslides,andsuper-standardfloodsmayrigerdsasterchains.Disasterpreventionandmigationareofroted withchallengesschassuiintidentificationofulti-souedamicis,netimprovejntreglatiodgeye sponse mechanism,and the lagging adaptability to climate change.
