Study on Dynamic Response and Damage of High Arch Dam Under Earthquake-Landslide Surge Superposition

Abstract:Strongearthquakeswillgreatlyducethstabiltoftheresevorslopeadasiliducelandldegeologicaldisastesheuperpositionofearthquakeandlandslidesurgeloadgreatlytreatens thesafetyofthedambody.Inordertoexplore thedynamicresponseand damageevoutionofhigachdmundertesuperpositioofartquake-landslidesurgethispapertokaighchdmasteet,uilt afinefiniteeementodel,eterndecaluatomodeloftquake-ladslideugeload,ndaalydteodalatiois placementresponsecharacteriticsnddamageevolutiontrendofarchdamundermultipleworkingcondtions.Theresultsshowthatthehydrodynamic added mass significantly reduces the wet modal frequency of the arch dam by 1 8%-23% ,and the high-order vibration modes change significantly. When the earthquake and surge are superimposed, the peak displacement Rd of the midpoint of the vault is positively corelatedwithtepakacelerationoftearthquakeandtemaximumsurgeeightWhenthepeakaceleratioof teearthquakeincreases from 0.2g to 0.6g , Rd increases by 89.7% . The maximum displacement time under different working conditions is affcted by many factors.Thedamagedegreeofdambodyvariesgreatlyunderdiferentworkingconditions.Thedamageofupstreamsurfaceissensitivetothe change of surge height. When the surge height is different by 40m ,the weighted damage area ratio of upstream surface to RUWA changes by (204 27.1% .From conditionone to condition three,the weighted damage area ratio of cantilever surface is increased from 9.99 % to 25.76% compared with RFWA ,and thedam body haspenetrating cracks.The damage dissipation energy increasessharply with the increase of load strength.
