Abstract:WiththedeepeningofChina-SriLankarelationsandtheadvancementoftheBeltandRoadInitiative,Sinhalalanguageprofesionalswithinterculturalcommunicativecompetenceareplyinganincreasinglyimportantoleinlanguageservicesand international exchanges.ThisstudytakesstudentsmajoringinSinhalaasitsresearchsubjectsandadoptsacombinationofquestionnairesurveysandliteratureanalysistoexplorethecurrntsiuationandchallenges incultivatingtheir interculturalcommunicative competence.DrawingonHofstedesulturaldimensionstheoryHal'shigh-ndlow-contextculturetheoryandthethdime sionalmodelofiterculturalcompetence(ognitive,ectiveandbehvioral)thepaprproposestargetedtacingstategiee findingsshowthatsudentshaveafoundationilanguageexpresionandculuralaitudes,butthereremainsoomforirovent inpragmaticsategis,uluraldapabilityndpracticallaingoos.Aodinglyispersuggstsiiing integration,eichinghigontextinput,ilingompeencerentedtrainngsystes,andimprovingevauationmehanissi ing toprovideboth theoretical groundingand practical guidancefor enhancing theinterculturalcompetenceof Sinhalamajors.
