Abstract:ThisstudydeplyexploresthecuturaluniquenessofTheEpicofBacuqloxgdhandthechalengesfacedinitstraslation process,andaalyesthspecificanifestatisaddualfectsofte“ookinggselfpenmenoninthetranslationandissa tionofthisepic.Thesudyrevealstattheculturaluniquenessoftepicisprimarilyembodiedintesacrednessandoraltransiioof itstext.Amongtese,theuntraslatabilityfdivinenamesandosmologicalviews,asellastelssofologicalmetaphosdurige translatioprosssiteolsiialaarocsofsalasd ination,thetraslator’ulturalbackgroundandvaluejudgmentsforte“self-iror”,iletereader’sreceptivecontetcostiute the“other-miror”,bothofhichjointlycontributetothe“okingglasselfphenomenon.Ontheonehand,uetoculturaldiereces, theclaicysufefroualdisotinteprocsof rslationnddsseatioadngteductioiitslalalueOn theotherhandoughthrslator’seatieproesingnddaptatioculreiseproducedndioatedievig mentinculturalvalue,therebyformingthe“dualmirorimage”efectofthe“l(fā)okingglasselfphenomenon.Thispenomenonreveals theessenceof translationthatis,itisnotasimplecodeswicing,butadyamicprocesshereculturalsubjectsreflectontselves and reconstruct meaning through the mirror of the other.
