Screening and fermentation characteristics of biocontrol bacterium BM-O3 antagonistic to Fusariumsolani

AbstractUsing plate isolation and antagonism assay techniques,a strain (designated as BM-O3)antagonistic to Fusarium solani (causalagent of tobacco root blackrot)was isolated fromtobacco rhizosphere soil.Its biocontrol effcacy wasvalidatedthrough potexperiments,and its fermentationcharacteristics weredetermined.ResultsshowedthatBM-03 exhibited an inhibition rate of 52.78% against F .solani in plate antagonism tests,while pot experiments demonstrated a biocontrol efficacy of 78.03% against root black rot. Further fermentation characterization revealed that inorganic salts had minimal impact onBM-O3’s fermentation,whereas soluble starch,yeast extract powder,and soybean meal were identified as optimal nutrients for itsgrowthand fermentation.The optimized fermentation medium wereas follws: soluble starch 30g , soybean meal 6 g, yeast extract powder 4 g, NaCl 0.5g MgSO ·7H 2 0 0.5 g, FeSO : ,finally adjusted to 1L with pH 8.0, 7% inoculation volume, 100mL medium per flask,and cultivation at This study provides foundational data forthe development and application of BM-O3 asa biocontrol agent.
