Abstract： This paper first summarizes the development of new media and computer technology andits application potential ineducation.Then，itanalyzes the present situationof mathematics teaching incollegesanduniversities， and points out the limitations of traditional teaching methods.Then，through concrete examples，the paper discusses the application of computer technology in mathematics teaching in collges and universities.Finally，the paper puts forward improvement strategies and suggestions，emphasizes the importance of strengthening campus information construction and providing stable technical support，and proposes the establishment of students' information technology literacyimprovementplantocomprehensivelyoptimizetheaplication efectofcomputer technologyincollege mathematics teaching，and finally realize the overall improvement of education quality and students' learning experience.
