Effects of special quality management on disinfection and sterilization quality of flexible endoscopes in central sterile supply department

【Abstract】ObjectiveTo explore the impact of special quality management on the quality of disinfection and sterilization of soft luminal scopes in disinfection supplycentre（CSSD）.MethodsA total of 43O flexible endoscopes recycledand disinfected in CSSDof thehospital werecollctedbetween January2022and December 2023，including 215 endoscopes in routine group （routine quality management， January-December 2O22） and 215 endoscopes in special management group （special quality management， January-December 2O23）.The management qualityofflexible endoscopes，qualification rate of management，incidence of endoscope-related adverse events， satisfaction with flexible endoscopesand incidence of nosocomial infection during follow -up were compared between the two groups..ResultsThe scores of cleaning quality，sterilisation quality and packaging quality of the special management group were higher than those of the conventional group （ P <0.05）. The cleaning pass rate， packaging pass rate，sterile goods passrate and issuance pass rate of thespecial management group were higher than those of the conventional group（ P <0.05）.The incidence rate of adverse events of the special management group's luminaloscopic instruments was 0.47%（1/215） were lower than those of the conventional group 3.72%（8/ 215） （χ2 =5.561， P =0.003）.The special management group's service attitude，timely supply of sterile goods， effective communication，and satisfaction score of sterile instrument quality were higher than thatof the conventional group （ P <0.05）.the incidence of hospital infection in the two groups was compared （χ2 =1.307， P =0.253）.Conclusion Specialqualitymanagementcan effectivelyimprove the qualityof disinfectionand sterilisationof CSSD soft luminal scopes，the qualification rate of instrument management，which is conduciveto thereduction of adverse events during cleaning，disinfection and sterilisation of luminal scopes，and the satis-factionof the personnel of each departmentis high.
