Effect of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi Species and Inoculation Methods on Growth of Flue-Cured Tobacco Seedlings

Abstract:Thisstudyaimstoclarifytheroleofarbuscular mycorhizalfungi(AMF)inthegrowthandphysiologicalcharacteristics offlue-cured tobaccoseedlings.Apotexperiment wasonductedtodetecttheimpacts of treediferentinoculationmethods andfive AMFstrains(Acaulosporascrobiculata,As;Rhizophagusintraradices,Ri;Fumeliformismosseae,F(xiàn)m;Claroideoglomus etunicatum,Ce; Glomusvesiforme,Gvonthegowth prameters,potosythticpeformance,cabonandnitrogenmetabolis,and mineralnutrientuptakeoftheflue-curedtobacoVarietyK326seedlings.ResultsshowedthatthefiveAMFstrainsestablished symbiotic relationships withthe tobaccoroots under thethreeinoculation methods.Compared tothenon-inoculatedcontrol,AMF inoculationsignificantlyicreasedtheootprojectionarea,totalrotlength,oottipumber,drymaterccumulationndnet photosyntheticrateoftobaccoplants.In particular,underthe inoculation methodthree(where theinoculumwas placedapproximately away from the tobacco roots),the tobaco seedlings inoculated with Acaulospora scrobiculata (As)exhibited significantly highertotalootlength,otprojetionarea,dryateraccumulation,andetphotosytheticatethantoseinocuatedwithother AMFstrains.Furthermore,underthemethodthree,thesedlingsinoculatedwithAsdisplayedsignificantlyhigherlevelofroot diameter,drymateracumulation,netphotosyntheticrate,sucrose phosphatesynthaseactivityandnitrogencontent inthe underground parts,compared tothose inoculatedunderthe methodtwo(wheretheinoculum was indirectcontact withtheroots). These findingssuggesthat AMFinoculation can efectivelypromote theotandleaf developmentofflue-cured tobaccoseedlings, andenhanceitsnutrientuptake.TheAsstrain,wheninoculatedunderthemethodthree,forms themost beneficialsymbiotic relationship, yielding superior results.
