The Internal Logic and Effect Evaluation of Digital Economy Enabling High-Quality Tourism Development

Abstract: This paper discusses the effect of digital economy on high-quality development of tourism and its internal logic,utilizing the comprehensive evaluation method,panel fixed effect model,and China’ s provincial level data from 20l2 to 2O22.It is found that the digital economy not only directly improves the supply level of tourism products and services and promotes the high-quality development of destination tourism, but also indirectly improves the supply level of tourism products and services through accurate acquisition of consumer tourism demand information. The empirical results show that digital economy has a significant enabling effect. For every unit that the level of digital economy increases,the quality of tourism development willincrease by O.3 units. Heterogeneity analysis shows that the western region,the Yelow River Basin Economic Belt,the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated Development Economic Belt,and the Belt and Road Construction Economic Belt have obvious digital economy empowerment effects. The above research conclusions can provide decision-making reference for local governments to promote the penetration and integration of digital economy and tourism.
