Abstract:Thisstudyistoslecttepotatovarietiescharacterzedbyearlymaturinghghqualityandighyieldsforearlypring cultivationinHunan.Atotalof7earlymaturingpotatovarietiessuchasEmalingsu3Huasu,andDongnong3'wretested inLilingCityHunanProvince.TheresutsshowedthatfivevarietiesincludingJzhangshu8'andEmalingsh14'hadteplnthight exceeding 5 6 c m .'Zhongshu5'hadthe highesttuber weight perplant.Jizhangshu12','Zhongshu5',and'Xingjia2'hadhigher single tuber weight.Eightvarieties including'Xingjia2',Jizhangshu12',andJizhangshu20'had highercommoditypotatoate ( > 9 0 % ).The yieldsof 'Jizhangshu 12','Xingjia2','Kexin1',and'Jizhangshu were higher, increasing by over 30 % compared with that of the control.'Jizhangshu and 'Huashu 1'had higher comprehensive sensory score ( ? 1 5 ).Insummary,'Xingjia with a high yield, a highcommodity potatorate,andhigh comparable benefits is suitable for earlyspring cultivation in Hunan.Jizhagshu with a highyield,aigcommoditypotatoate,ndigcomprehensivesesorysoreistabletobedevelopdasigqalityfresh ediblepotatovarietyDespitethegoodperformance inmultipleindexes,Jzhangshu12'iseasytoproducesolaninebecausef its tuberizationintheshallowsoilayer,whichhasediblesafetyisks.Therefore,hilingorblackflmmulchingshouldbeadoptedduring the cultivation of this variety.
