Abstract:Pestalozzi and Yan Yangchu,as popular educators who influenced the world,both devoted themselves torural education,especiallyrural vocational education,in the historyof education inboth Chinaand the West.The goal of Pestalozzi’s rural vocational education is“to savethe countryside and educate farmers”.Relying on the Xinzhuang Experiment and others,it implements labor education,moral educationand intelectual education,etc.through thetheoryof element education.The goal of rural vocationaleducation in Yan Yangchu is“national rejuvenation”and“cultivating new people".Relying on organizations such as Pingjiao Church,schools,and class associations,it implements“four major educations”through“three methods”. Through a comparative study of Pestalozzi and Yan Yangchu’sthoughts on rural vocational education,it is known thatthe two havecoupling and differences in terms of theoretical sources,educational purposes,educational experiments,andeducational paths, anda specific analysis of them isconducted,thereby providing practical inspirations for contemporary rural voca
