Selection and Application of Starting Methods for High-Power Loads in Ships

Abstract: The stability of ship power grids is a critical guarantee for safe ship operation. This paper systematicall analyzes the technical characteristics of starting methods for high-power loads,including direct starting,star-deltastarting,autotransformer starting,softstarting,andvariable frequency starting.Acomprehensive selectio method is proposed based on transient voltage drop verification,starting torque matching,and step-loading capability.Through a case studyofa specific ship type,the feasibilityoftheselected starting methods is validated, and a step-loading strategy for high-power loads across the entire ship is formulated.This research provides theoretical and practical references for ship power system design.
