Abstract:Theoverwintering periodof wheat in the Huanghuai winter wheat region is extremely susceptible to low temperatureresulting indiferentdegreesoffreezingdamageeven thedeathofwheat,subsequentlyafectingyield.To cultivate wheat varieties with strong freezing resistance suitableforthe Huanghuai winter wheatregion,weconductastudy on winter freezing resistance of 138 wheat varieties (strains)from 10regions,and refinethefreezing damage level.At the sametime,pedigree analysis isconductedonsome varieties (strains)with good freezing resistance,aiming toclarify the contextoffreezing resistance germplasmresources andguide breeding practice bysynthesizing the superiortraitsof parents. Theresultsshow thatunder theenvironmentalconditionsof thisyear,the frost damagegradesof the tested varieties (strains) are concentrated between grade 2 and grade 5,of which 44.20% are above grade 4-,indicating that nearly half of the varieties(strains)curentlyhadweakfreezingresistance.Usingclusteranalysis tocalculateEuclidDistance(ED),thetest materials are divided into8categories,and35coldresistant wheatvarieties (strains),including Daimai4493,Denghai 202,Hemai25,Jimai 22,Jimai 54,Lunxuan145,Tainong19,andYongfeng 106.The parent tracing of wheat varieties (strains)with strong freezingresistance show thatthere isastrong correlationinthegenealogyof27wheat varieties (strains),and some parents have a higher frequency of utilization.Therefore,excellent breeding parents such as Kenong 199,Han 6172,annong19,Yannong15,Lumail3andLumail4areselected.Thisstudycanprovidetheoreticaleference for selecting excellent parents with strong frezing resistance in wheat breeding in the northern part of the Huanghuai winter wheat region.
