Abstract:Toexplore theimpactoforganic seleniumfertilizersprayon theantioxidantcapacityandfoodqualityof sweet cheries,"Samituo"cherryfruitsareselected for experimentation.Thestudy employs arandomized block design where cherry trees are treated with a biological protein selenium fertilizer at varying concentrations ( 0mg/L , 10mg/L 30mg/L and 50mg/L )during the pre-color change and colortransformation stagesof the fruit.This research assesses the selenium content in fruits andleaves,antioxidantenzyme activities,freradical scavengingabilities,andoverallfruitqualityn fruits post-treatment.Theresultsshowthattheseleniumcontentinboth thecherrfruitsandleaves increasedas theconcentration ofappliedseleniumfertilizerisraised.Foliar aplicationofseleniumenhances theactivityofantioxidant enzymes in the fruits,improves the free radical scavenging rate,and also increases the levels of Ca2+ and vitamin C within the fruits. Notably,the 30mg/L selenium treatment exhibits the most significant effects,markedly improving the activities of glutathione peroxidase (GSH- .Px ),thioredoxin reductase (TrxR),and the total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC) in the fruits comparedto the control group( (0mg/L ).Correlation analysis demonstrates a significant positive relationship between the seleniumlevels inthecherryfruitsandseveralantioxidantparameters,including glutathione S-transferase (GST)andTrxR activities,superoxide anion radical (O2?-) scavenging ability, and total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC).This study provides a scientific foundation and theoretical guidance for cultivating selenium-enriched sweet cherries.
