Abstract:Inrockmechancsandengineeringpractice,acurateandrapidevaluationofuniaxialcompresivestrengthandtesile strengthofrockisimportantforengineeringdesignandconstructionsafety.Traditionaltestmethodsaretime-consumingand laborious,andthemethodofdeterminingunaxialcompresivestrengthandtensilestrengthofockbypointloadstregthidexis simpleandfast.Inthispaper,thepointloadtestuniaxialcompressietest,ndBraziliansplitingtestunderdryondiioswere cariedoutbasedonl1diferenttypesofsandstone,andtherelationshipofthepointloadstrengthwithcompressivestrgthand tensilestrengthwasestablishedbydiferentftigmethds.Teresultsshowthathepontoadstrengthofsandstonehasasignificant corelationwithcompressivestrengthandtensilestrength,andthevariationcoeficientsoftetwopointloadstrengthshvelitle diference,whichcanbeusedastheindexforcalculating thepointloadstregthThreediferenttypesoftransformationrelatioships canbeusedtofitthontloadandiaxialompressiestrengthcludingon-intereptlinarrelatioship,Ontercptlir relationshipndpoerfunctio.TelearfitingmedisspletalulatendteoetioncoeentoflinarftihO interceptishigherthanthatoflinearfitigwithnon-Ointercpt.BoththepowerfunctionfitingformulaandtheOinterceptfiting formulacanbeusedtoestimatetheunaxialompresivestrengthinpracticalengineering.Forthetensilestrengthitisalso
