Analysis and Improvement of Rapid Wear of Front Brake Friction Pads for a Light Truck

Abstract：This paper focusesontheproblemofrapid wearoffront brakefrictionpads forlighttrucks.Byusing theFault Tree Analysis（FTA）method，anumberofpotentialfactorssuchasthefrontaxlehavingasmalerbrakingclearancethantherearaxleand thefrontaxlehavinganoverlyfastbrakingpresurebuild-upspedareinvestigatedonebyone.Throughmeasurementandtestingitis determinedthateexcesivespecificenergydisipationrateoftefrontaxlebrakesistemaincause.Byresearcingthebrakeparametersofcompetingmodels，thedametersofthefrontandrearwheelbrakecylindersareadjustedtooptimizethedistributioofthespecificenergydisipationrate.Aftertheimplementationoftheimprovementmeasures，throughcustomerservicetrackingandverification，themileageoftefrictionlnngsexeds5oilometers，ectielyolvigteproblfapdaroftefrota tion linings and providing an effective solution for improving the performance ofthe light truck braking system.
