Effects of Exogenous Proline on Growth and Development of Tomato Seedlings under Drought Stress

Abstract: Inordertoinvestigatehowexogenousprolineregulatesthegrowthandphsiologicalcharacteristicsof tomatosdlingsunderdrought,prolinewasusedforfolarsprayingoftomatoseedlings,andonecontrolgroupwithnormalwateringandfivetreatment groups withdroughtanddiferentconcenrationsofprolinesprayed(,15,0,45,60mg·L-l)weresetuptostudythechangesin growthconditios,clorohyllntet,alonaldehdententdelativeectrcalconductivityoftmatosedlingferplcationof prolineunderdroughtstress.Theresultsshowed thattheplantheight,stemthickness,fresh massroot-crownratioand chlorophyllontentoftomatoseedlingsincreasedsignificantlywiththeincreaseofexternallappedprolineconcentratioafr droughtreatment,indicatingthatprolinecouldsignificantlyimprovethegrowthconditionofsedlingsunderdroughtstressandhda postiveefectonpromotingsdlinggowth.Throughthedeteinationofalondialdehdecontentandelativeconductivityfound thatwiththeeseofeallldolioeaiotetsodasingtrdiaigaoli efectivelyreducethedroughtstresonthedamageoftomatosedlingcellmembranesandimprovethedroughtresistanceof toato seedings.Incoclusion,theapproprateoncetrationofxogenouspolinecanancetedoughtrsistanceoftomatosdlingsby promotinggrowthnhancingphotosnthesisandprotectingcellmembranes,andtesultsoftisstudyprovideatechnicalerence for improving the quality and efficiency of tomato under drought stress.
