Evaluation pollution of soil heavy metals in kiwifruit production area of Meixian,

Shaanxi Province

Abstract:The residual amounts of four heavy metal elements,namely cadmium,lead, chromiumand copper,in soil samples from 44 orchards in8 townships of the main kiwifruit production areas in Meixian, Shaanxi Province,were determined.The pollution index and potential ecological risk index were used to evaluate the pollution status of heavy metals in soil.The results showed that theresidual levels of the four heavy metal elements inthe tested soil samples do not exceed the standard limits.Under the soil background values of Shaanxi Province,the single pollution indices of the four heavy metal elements were all >1 ,theaverage comprehensive pollution index was 2.60,the pollution grade was moderate pollution,and the potential comprehensive ecological risk was low potential ecological risk.Based on the environmental quality evaluation standard for the producing areas of edible agricultural products,except that the single polution index value of cadmium element in Shoushan Town,Qizhen Town and Yingtou Town was ${ \tt > } 1 . 0 \$ ,the single pollution index values of the other three heavy metal elements were all <1.0 ,the average comprehensive pollution index of the four heavy metal elements was 0.77,and the potential comprehensive ecological risk belongs to the low-risk area.Cadmium element was the ecological hazard factor with the greatest contribution in the planting area,and it is necessary to closely monitor it and scientifically prevent and control it.
