Abstract：Inthefieldofcivilengineeing，collegestudentstructuraldesigncompetitionsareanimportantplatformfor cultivatingstudents‘innovativeabiliesandpracticalskill.Thisresearchfocusesonthetensilepropertiesofbambooskin materialsandaimstoprovidescientificbasisfortheaplicationofbambooskinmaterialsinstructuraldesigncompetitions.In thispaper，auniversaltesting machinewasusedtotestthetensilepropertiesofbambooskinspecimensofdiferentsize，and theinfluenceofthethicknessandwidthofthespecimensonthetensilestrengthwasdiscussed.Thetestresultsshowthatthe tensilestrengthofthebambooskinmaterialiscloselyrelatedtothewidthandthicknessofthespecimen，withthespecimen with a width of 6 m m showing the highest tensile strength.In addition，increasing the number of layersof bamboo skin material cansignificantlyimproveitstensilestrength.Theresearchresultsprovideexperimentaldatasupportforoptimizingthedesignof bambooskin membersand areof great significance to improving the performance of structural design competitions.
