Characterization of microbial communities in water from two Litopenaeus vannamei aquaculture systems

Abstract:The experiment was designed with two aquaculture systems for Litopenaeus uannamei : the flow-through aquaculture system as the control group (Group C),and the zero一water exchange aquaculture system as the experimental groups (Groups F and S),each group consisted of 5 concrete tanks with a stocking density of 3OO individuals per square meter and a 6O一day culture period. High -throughput sequencing analysis revealed significant differences in microbial communities between the two systems.Proteobacteria and Bacteroidota were the dominant phyla in both systems,but Bacteroidota exhibited a higher relative abundance system. Functional prediction demonstrated that microbial communities in the zero一water exchange system were more active in pathways such as amino acid metabolism,carbohydrate metabolism,and energy metabolism,providing enhanced nutritional support for the shrimp.
