Abstract:Basedona foundational engineringprojectinthecoastalareaofQingdao,thisstudyconducts fieldtests onthe verticalcompresive static loadof single piles forbothPHC pipe piles and cast-in-place piles.Taking intoaccount the complexgeologicalconditionsof theproject,the study analyzes the verticalbearing characteristicsof these two pile types foundationsandevaluates theapplicabilityof theexponential modelandhyperbolicmodelinpredictingtheultimatevertical compressivebearing capacityof single testpiles.TheresearchresultsshowthatPHCpipe pileshave higherbearingcapacity and more stable performance,making them more suitable forcomplex coastal geological conditions.Incontrast, the bearing performanceofcast-in-placepilesissignificantlyinfluencedbypilelengthandthelength-to-diameterratio.Employing the exponential model and hyperbolic model respectively to predict the curves for PHC pipe piles and cast-in-place piles, it is found that theexponential model is more acurate in predictingtheultimateverticalcompressivebearingcapacityof PHC pipe piles,whilethehyperbolic model is more accurate forcast-in-place piles.Theresearch results provide reference and guidance for optimizing the design and construction of pile foundations in coastal areas ofQingdao.
