Analysis of the comparative advantages of egg chicken farming in various cities of Shanxi Province

AbstractTo explore theadvantages and disadvantages oflayer breeding in various cities in Shanxi Province，the comprehensive comparativeadvantage index method wasadopted.By calculating the scale advantage index and effciencyadvantage index，thecomprehensivecomparativeadvantages of layerbreeding in various cities in the study area were calculated，and targeted suggestions were proposed.The results indicated that Yangquan， Xinzhou，and Datong had significant scale advantages; Jincheng，Datong，and Shuozhou had high eficiency comparative advantages; thecomprehensive comparative advantage index of Yangquan，Xinzhou，and Datong was higher; most cities had the advantage ofraising laying hens.Suggestions were putforward tocreate favorableconditions forthedevelopmentof the eggchicken industryintheregion，promote scientific breeding to improve breeding eficiency，advance the industrializationof layer breeding，and increase brand building eforts.Thisarticle provides references forpromoting the sustainable and high quality development of the layer breeding industry in the research area.
