Review and prospectof Anhui rice germplasm(variety)innovation

AbstractThe research progress in rice germplasm innovation,variety breeding,and breeding technology developmentinAnhui Provincesince1949 has been reviewed,andthefutureresearchdirections inrice breeding have been prospected.In terms of germplasm innovationandvariety breeding,Anhui rice germplasm (variety) innovation has gone through the stages of introducing and systematicallselecting agricultural varieties and dwarf varieties,as wellas selectingthre-linesterilelinesand two-linesterilelines;asof2O24,there were1539selfbredrice varieties in the research area,including three-line hybrid rice varieties suchas80 You 121, Xieyou 57,and Quanyou822,two-line hybrid rice combinations such as Xingliangyou No.6and Wandao 153,conventional rice varieties such as Huixiangruan No.l and Huixiangjing 977,as wellas strong drought resistant varieties such as Lyuhan No.1and Lyuhanliangyou 21.In termsof breeding technology,mutagenesis technology hasthecharacteristics of high mutationrateand light biological damage,enriched breeding resources;molecular markerassisted breeding technology can accurately select and effciently recombine forthe gene,improving the success rate of breeding; geneediting technologycan precisely modify targetgenes accordingto specific breeding needs,further improving the precision and eficiencyofbreeding.The next step willfocusoncultivating newvarieties of green,high quality,high yielding,andmulti resistant rice tomeet diversified market demands.
