A Study on Degree Adverbs in Hefei Dialect ZHANG Minghui, YANG Mingjie

Abstract: Degre adverbs in dialects are an important means of expressing quantitative categories, which have different usages and characteristics from mandarin and are an important part of the study of Chinese dialect grammar. There are Various types of degree adverbs in Hefei dialect with clearly diffrent usage.The degree adverbs in Hefei dialect are classified into three categories according to the degree of magnitude: excessive level,high level and low level,among which degree adverbs of the high levelare the most abundant.From the aspects of the characteristics，syntax,semantics,degree quantity，as well as the related sentence structure features,functions and sources of degree adverbs,the analysis and research show that for the Chinese character “很”and“死”,there are many differences from their usage in Mandarin with some of the features of degree adverbs in modern Chinese retained. However,some other degree adverbs in Hefei dialect such as“一逼”，“百 好”,“上好”,“毫毫”,and“滴滴”often contains a high degree of subjective color and emotional evaluation in use.
