Qualitative studies on life experience of urostomy patients：a Meta-integration

Abstract Objective：To systematically integrate the qualitative research on the life experience of urostomy patients，and provide reference for the formulation of targeted intervention measures.Methods：Computerized searches were conducted for relevant qualitative studies on the life experiences，feelings，and experiences of urostomy patients in the databases of CNIK，WanFang Database，VIP，CBM，PubMed，EMbase，the Cochrane Library，Web of Science，EBSCO，MedLine，and OVID from the time of database construction to September 30，2023. After quality assessment of the included studies using the Australian Centre for Evidence-Based Health Care （JBI） qualitative research quality assessment tool，the results of the included studies were integrated and summarized using Meta-integration.Results：A total of 12 articles were included. A total of 67 themes were extracted，summarized into 7 categories，and finally integrated into 3 outcomes，namely physical and psychological distress，impaired self-efficacy and social functioning，and shifts in life beliefs in patients with urostomy.Conclusion：Urologic stoma brings many disturbances to patients′ physiological，psychological and social aspects，and healthcare professionals should improve the continuity of care system and build a hospital-community-family linkage support system with a view to improving patients′ quality of life.
