Effects of transcutanclus electrical acupoint stimulation on gastrointestinal function in patients with enteral nutrition：a Meta-analysis

Abstract Objective：To systematically evaluate the effects of transcutanclus electrical acupoint stimulation on gastrointestinal function in patients with severe enteral nutrition.Methods：Randomized controlled trials on the effects of transcutanclus electrical acupoint stimulation on gastrointestinal function in patients with severe enteral nutrition were searched through CNKI，WanFang Database，CBM，VIP，PubMed，EMbase，the Cochrane Library，and Web of Science.The retrieval period was from the establishment of the database to May 31，2023.Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.4 software.Results：A total of 11 articles were included，involving 794 patients.The results of Meta-analysis showed that the incidence of diarrhea（OR=0.49，95%CI 0.28-0.87，P=0.01），gastrointestinal bleeding（OR=0.20，95%CI 0.09-0.47，P=0.000 2），abdominal distension（OR=0.46，95%CI 0.23-0.90，P=0.02），and length of ICU stay（MD=-2.56，95%CI -3.87--1.26，P=0.000 1）were significantly lower than those of the control group.The difference was statistically significant （P<0.05）.Conclusion：Transcutanclus electrical acupoint stimulation can reduce the incidence of diarrhea，gastrointestinal bleeding and abdominal distension in patients with severe enteral nutrition，and shorten the length of ICU stay.
