Abstract:Based on magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) theory,a 3D arc motion model for the dynamic breaking of contacts is established to simulate inthepractical industrial products,makingthe simulation model closer tothe real physical conditionsofarc interruption.The arcmotion process after interruption under diferent initial currents is analyzed.High-speed photography technology is used to carryout the relevant experiments.The comparison and verification with thesimulationresults fully demonstrate theeffctiveness of thesimulation model.Through the simulation studyof arcs interuption under different currents,the location and causes of arc stagnation in the structureare pointedout,thereasons fortheaggravationofarcstagnation during the interuptionof large currents are analyzed,and the theoretical guidance is provided for thesubsequent research and development of such products.
