Effects of Internet based cognitive behavioral therapy on negative emotions and quality of life in cancer patients： a Meta?analysis

Abstract  Objective：To systematically evaluate the intervention effect of Internet based cognitive behavioral therapy（ICBT） on negative emotions and quality of life in cancer patients.Methods：RCTs on the application of ICBT in cancer patients were searched in the Cochrane Library，PubMed，EMbase，Web of Science，Science Direct，CBM，CNKI，Wanfang Data and VIP.The retrieval time was from establishment of database to September 1，2021.Two investigators screened the literatures and performed data extraction and quality assessment.Meta?analysis of the included literature was performed using RevMan 5.4 software.Results：Ten RCTs including 1 278 cancer patients were finally included.The Meta analysis showed that ICBT could improve anxiety［SMD=-2.19，95%CI（-3.35，-1.03），P=0.000 2］，depression［SMD=-1.85，95%CI（-2.90，-0.80），P=0.000 5］，fear of cancer recurrence ［MD=-3.48，95%CI（-3.26，-3.33），P<0.000 1］ and quality of life ［SMD=1.25，95%CI（0.52，1.99），P=0.000 9］ in cancer patients.Conclusion：Current existing evidence showed that ICBT can reduce the level of anxiety，depression，fear of cancer recurrence and improve quality of life in cancer patients.
