Abstract:This study wasconducted as a pot experiment,and employed in-situ soils collcted from grasslands with different degrees of degradation as test soil samples.Two treatment approaches were implemented:(1) adding water,nitrogen (N),and phosphorus (P) to simulate the conditions of non-degraded grassland;(2) maintaining the original water and nutrient levels without any aditions.The efects of these treatments on the plant height,aboveground and underground biomass,leaf thickness and normalized diference vegetation index (NDVI) ofoat (Auena satiua) were analyzed.The results showed as folows: The plant height of oat in lightly degraded grassland was significantly increased by water,N and P additions( ?P<0.05 ,and the effect of water was moresignificant.Water,Nand Paditions significantly increased plant height,above-ground biomass and NDVI of oats in moderately and severely degraded grassland ( .P<0.05 . The effects of water on plant height and NDVI in moderately and severely degraded grassland were greater than those in N ,P additions,while the effects of N,P additions on above-ground biomass in moderately and severely degraded grassland were greater than those in water treatment. Only N,P aditions significantly increased the underground biomass of oat in moderatelydegradedandseverelydegraded grassland (P<0.05) .Thisstudy identified thekey factors influenc ing the cultivation of high-quality forage in degraded grassland ecosystems.The findings provided a theoretical foundation for the rational development and utilization of degraded grasslands,as wellas for the formulation of efficient planting strategies. Additionally,the results ofered valuable insights to support the enhancement of grassland productivity.
