Abstract：Bulk solidwastes，including stel slag，slag，tailings，sludge，construction waste，glass slag，and other materials，is a mixture of inorganic materials mainlycomposedof silicon oxide，aluminum oxide，calcium oxide，and soon. Thesewastes havesimilarcompositions toinorganicthermal insulationmaterialsandarethemainsourceofreplacingtraditional naturalrawmaterials.Basedonthestructuralcharacteristicsof inorganicthermalinsulationmaterialsandthephysicaland chemical haracteristicsofbulk solid wastes，thispapersummarizes theresearch progressofbulksolid wastes inthe fieldof building energyconservationsuchassolidwaste-basedthermalinsulationfilers，solidwaste-basedadmixtures，andtotal solid waste-basedthermalinsulationmaterials，anddiscusssthetechnical feasibilityofreaearchonphysicochemical characteristics，componentadjustment，andcoordinatedactionofmultiplesolid wastes.Finally，thedevelopment rendofsolid waste -based inorganic thermal insulation materials is proposed.
